DALLAS, Sept 8, 2008 - Judge Raggio has been recommended by The Dallas Morning News in the contest for 162nd Civil District Court. Citing Judge Raggio’s “experience on this bench since 2005 and her previous appellate work – not to mention a master's degree in finance and background in banking,” the paper strongly recommended her re-election over her challenger who "offered no compelling reason to make a change" on this bench.

Dear Dallas County Citizens:
In 2004, with the help of so many people, I had the good fortune to be the first Democrat elected to a Civil District Court in Dallas County in over 20 years. I am truly enjoying my work as a judge, and I thank you for the opportunity to serve. I have worked very hard to dispense justice fairly and impartially, holding fast to my belief that the judiciary should be characterized by integrity and independence. Now I need your help once again as the 2008 election cycle begins.
Although November 2008 may seem far away, the hard work of campaigning begins
now, and I need your support through volunteer work and spreading the word.

The campaign thanks the many people who have contributed thus far. As of November 2007, the campaign has received contributions from more than 200 people and has operating funds on hand of approximately $130,000. In addition, nearly 300 individuals, community leaders, precinct chairs and public officials have endorsed the campaign. Judge Raggio extends her appreciation for this terrific support.
